Here is the problem we talked about in class!
A bookstore recently had a book sale. 2/3 of the books were sold for $2.50 each. If the bookstore had 36 books that remained unsold how much money did the store make on the books that were sold?
Post your answer and justify your solution.
To solve the problem i wrote bullet points of the givens. Then since 2/3 of the books sold with 36 left over i multiplied 36 by 2 and got 72. i then multiplied 72(how many books sold) by $2.50( price of each book) and got $180. The book store made $180 on the books that were sold. I know that i am correct one because i checked my work with a calculator and two because i made sure i read the problem carefully. Saying that meaning i made note that i had to double the number of left over books before i could multiply it by the cost of each book. I am almost positive that i solved this problem correctly!

i tried it again and got 180. i x's 36 by 3 then took away 36 then x's that by 2.50 and got 180. yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried for a moment to solve the problem, but then i got really confused and my brain hurt... :( But good job Ella and Asa!!! :D
