First day!

Welcome (back) to ACMS!!!! It was a wonderful day for all who attended and I am looking forward to a great school year! Today we spent introducing ourselves to one another and using our brains to showcase our extraordinary problem solving skills. Students were given a scenario and had to dissect their problem into the four parts of problem solving:

1. Goal: What you are trying to achieve

2. Givens: What the problem tells you, what you are given

3. Constraints: something you can't do or something that holds you back

4. Relationships: If, then.... connection between two things

6C Homework:

1. Verbally explain our project in class today and how it relates to problem solving to someone that is at least in high school.

2. Ask them to summarize what you told them

** We are practicing communicating and reasoning like scientists and mathematicians.

Tomorrow we will discuss different methods of data collection and review the syllabus.

Students will need a 1.5" binder that we will share with our class and Ms. Glow's class.
