COW DAY

Hello Gang!

Today was another fun filled day.  A new announcement.  For any of you who received a JB or NY on your COW from last week, you MUST revise that COW and hand in on Friday so it is a MEETING.

In case any of you lost the cow, with the rubric  here is the link:

Today the 6ers took their quizzes over again, talked about what it means to have a sustainable school (let's hope your question gets picked for the town hall meeting) and reviewed the qualifications for the COW

7ers also talked about sustainability, had some time to make corrections to the Ecosystems quiz and spent some time in the computer lab.

Tomorrow get ready for a great day in MST!

Holiday wreaths and the two week countdown!

Hello my wonderful darlings!

Two more weeks until holiday break and we are going strong!  Yesterday we got back into the swing of things with a math heavy day in both classes!

6ers: We went over your assessments from Friday on prime and composite numbers and on the layers of the earth and lithospheric plates.  Today you will have a chance to bump up your grade by indicating WHY your answer was incorrect and an explanation for the correct answer.

We also played a math factor and multiple game. REMEMBER a factor is any number that can be evenly divided into another number:  Example: the factors of 12 are 1,2,3,4,6 and 12.

A MULTIPLE on the other hand is any number multiplied by that number.  For example a multiple of 12 is 144, 36, 48, and 12.  (hint: you multiply 12 by some number to get the answer)

Today's agenda is:
1. Correct assessments, pass COWs back, finish the math game and some time in the computer lab

7ers
Yesterday we also went over our assessments with the same expectation as the 6ers.  Today you are going to correct your assessments so you can get closer to meeting the standard!
We then split up into groups to review standards that we missed, dealing with addition and subtraction of integers, algebraic expressions and absolute value.

IXL KNOWLEDGE HOMEWORK FOR THE WEEk.

6ers:
1. L.1, L.2, L.3, L.5

7ers:
G.7, G.11

For the COW -- ANYONE who received a Just Beginning or Not yet in any area must use this week to revise and hand in your cow again so that ALL parts of the rubric meet the standard.  Otherwise you cannot move on to the next problem.
